Viktor Gyokeres is keeping his spirits high amidst ongoing transfer links with Arsenal, as evidenced by a jovial Instagram post featuring his Sporting CP teammates mimicking his signature celebration.

The 27-year-old Swedish striker has been a hot topic in the rumour mill recently, with both Manchester United and Arsenal reportedly interested in securing his services.

Gyokeres had an outstanding season last year, netting 54 goals in 52 appearances for Sporting CP. It seems likely that he'll be leaving Lisbon this summer, with the Primeira Liga champions said to be asking for a hefty £85 million for the former Coventry City and Swansea City player.

Despite the lack of progress on the transfer front - Sporting CP's president confirmed last week that no offers have been made for Gyokeres - the Swede seems to be taking it all in stride. He shared a light-hearted Instagram post on Friday night showing Sporting CP defender Zeno Debast replicating his iconic goal celebration.

Earlier this week, reports emerged suggesting that Gyokeres had appealed to the club's president to facilitate a move to Arsenal before Sporting CP's training resumes next week. According to Portuguese publication Record, the striker's agent has been in contact with Arsenal's sporting director Andrea Berta, reports the Manchester Evening News.

In addition to Arsenal, United are also rumoured to be eyeing a move for Gyokeres, who joined Sporting CP in 2023 under Ruben Amorim's leadership. However, despite speculation in the national media suggesting Gyokeres is eager to leave Sporting, it seems his team-mates still support him.

It has also been reported that Liverpool have entered the race for the striker's signature, with Arsenal currently prioritising a move for RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko.

Gyokeres has kept a relatively low profile, but earlier this month, he took to Instagram to address the speculation. "There is a lot of talks at the moment, most of it false," he wrote.

"I will speak when the time is right."
