Suspensions in B'luru Stampede Case: Sidda Govt moves HC against CAT order

Send Push
The state government on Wednesday moved the high court challenging the order of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) quashing the suspension of senior IPS officer Vikash Kumar Vikash, a day after chief minister Siddaramaiah dropped hints about his administration going in appeal.

Vikash, along with Bengaluru police commissioner B Dayananda and DCP (Central) Shekar Tekkannavar were suspended on June 5 on charges of negligence in the light of the stampede outside of Chinnaswamy stadium the previous day that killed 11 persons.

Advocate General Shashikiran Shetty mentioned the appeal before a division bench headed by Justice SG Pandit, which agreed to hear the case on Thursday.

In its petition, the government said the CAT had not considered the core aspects such as dereliction of duty that led to the suspension of officers.
