The wait for Swifties is finally over. Taylor Swift's highly anticipated new album " The Life of a Showgirl" will drop at 9:31 am IST on Friday.
The album will be released with several public release parties with thousands of fans in the chosen colour of orange.
"Showgirl" is the superstar's 12th studio album, which draws inspiration from her life during the record-breaking Eras Tour which concluded last year with $2 billion in ticket sales.
This has already been Swift's year. She bought the rights to her entire back catalog and became engaged to her NFL Super Bowl champion boyfriend Travis Kelce before the album's release.
The album "comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life," she said on the New Heights podcast hosted by Kelce and his brother.
"That effervescence has come through."
The 35-year-old star has assured her fans of "bangers" on the 12-track album. She has reunited with Swedish hitmakers Max Martin and Shellback, who were part of highly popular "Shake It Off" and "22". This also suggests that the album would be pop-heavy.
The album already has broken records, becoming the most pre-saved album ever on the Spotify streaming platform, breaking the record set last year by her own "The Tortured Poets Department."
The "Showgirl" is here
According to Swift's own description of the album, "Showgirl" is a move on from her recent work, including "Folklore" and "Evermore" during the pandemic in 2020, the pensive "Midnights" in 2022 and the introspective "Tortured Poets" last year.
Pop princess Sabrina Carpenter, who opened for Swift on some Eras Tour concerts, will feature on the title track. Swift's promotional images show her in several glittering stage costumes, with orange the key color.
The album, like some of other works of Swift, is set to have "Easter eggs", with coded words and phrases in songs or album. These could reveal things about her life or future projects.
Special editions of the albums will be available from big box retailer Target, which fans can choose from the " Portofino orange glitter vinyl" or the "summertime spritz pink shimmer vinyl."
"Looks like it's time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan..." Swift wrote in a social media post.
"Dancing is optional but very much encouraged."
