Bhopal Metropolitan Region's Blueprint: BDA To Invite Public Suggestions To Make Plan Better

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Bhopal Development Authority (BDA) will seek public suggestions on the proposed Bhopal Metropolitan Region plan. The BDA, the nodal agency for the project, will incorporate the best ones in the plan.

It has already received details related to present, past, and future projects of all government departments. Around 90 % work of gathering information from all government departments regarding their projects has been accomplished.

“We have sought information on projects as old as ten years, present, and future ones from various departments,” said a senior BDA officer.

Draft being worked on

BDA CEO Shyam Singh said to the Free Press, “We are going to take suggestions from people to prepare a better BMR plan. Currently, we are working on its draft.”

Department awaits gazette notification

With the Metropolitan Bill now approved by the state Assembly, the Urban Development and Housing Department is awaiting the gazette notification.

Indore ahead of Bhopal

The Indore Metropolitan Region plan is ahead of the Bhopal Metropolitan Region plan, as work on it started almost 1-½ years ago. The BMR would include all of Bhopal and parts of Sehore, Raisen, Vidisha, and Biora (Rajgarh). Work is underway to ascertain what portions of the remaining districts should be included in the plan.
