Singer and music composer Amaal Mallik recently revealed how his long-term relationship ended because of his religion. Soon after his revelation, his father, Daboo Malik, reached out to him despite Amaal having cut ties publicly with his family a few months ago.
"Son... Remember Your Father is always there... I know your pain and I love you to eternity... there can be none like you... (sic)," Daboo commented under a post about Amaal's heartbreak on social media.
Amaal has not responded to the comment yet.

Amaal opens up on painful breakup
During his appearance on Siddharth Kannan's podcast, Amaal revealed how he was rejected by his ex-girlfriend's family only because he was a Muslim and because he was a part of Bollywood.
Sharing that the relationship spanned from 2014 to 2019, Amaal revealed, "They didn’t want their daughter to be associated with someone from Bollywood. They were Jaats and said, ‘You’re from an Islamic background.’ I was like, 'There’s not even an ‘I’ of Islam in me'."

He also shared that more than his religion, his profession was the family's problem. "To be judged based on my surname or the fact that I’m part of Bollywood — I knew then that these were not my kind of people. I need broad-minded people. I don’t think our relationship would have worked in the long run," he stated.

In March this year, Amaal took everyone by shock as he announced his split from his family on social media.
"Today, with a heavy heart, I announce that I am stepping away from these personal ties. From now on, my interactions with my family will be strictly professional. This isn’t a decision made in anger, but one born from the necessity to heal and reclaim my life. I refuse to let the past rob me of my future any longer. I am committed to rebuilding my life, piece by piece, with honesty and strength (sic)," he had penned in a note.

However, he had deleted the post within hours of putting it up on Instagram, and has maintained radio silence on his equation with his parents.
