Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 26-year-old jeweller lost his life in an accident when a loading vehicle driver suddenly opened the vehicle’s door and his two-wheeler collided with it before falling on a broken wall.
The tragic incident occurred around 1 pm on June 26 in Khatipura area under Central Kotwali police station limits when he was on his way to purchase jewellery boxes for his shop. He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday morning.
According to police, the deceased was identified as Rajnikant Katkar, a resident of Nandanagar. He owned a jewellery shop in the same area. His brother Ramakant said that Rajnikant was on his way to purchase jewellery boxes when the driver of a water supply loading vehicle (registration number MP09LR5964) suddenly opened the vehicle’s door.

He lost control and was thrown against a broken roadside wall, suffering severe head injuries.
He was immediately taken to a private hospital and later referred to MY Hospital where he succumbed during treatment on Tuesday morning. Rajnikant is survived by his parents, younger brother, wife and 5-year-old daughter. His wife is currently five months pregnant.
Driver uses victim's fingerprint to unlock phone to inform kin
In a surprising move after the accident, the driver of the loading vehicle used Rajnikant’s fingerprint to unlock his phone and called the last dialled number to inform his family members about the accident.
Based on the family's statements, police registered a case against the driver under relevant sections of BNS.
