All Creatures Great and Small's Anna Madeley teases emotional storyline in new series

Last month,Channel 5audiences were delighted when the cherished period drama All Creatures Great and Small made its comeback.

The sixth series, whichleft viewers in floods of tears, opened with a minor time leap as audiences witnessed James and Helen Herriot (Nicholas Ralph and Rachel Shenton) now parents to two children, with their infant from the earlier series having developed into a young boy.

Whilst the programme signals the comeback of James and Helen, alongside other beloved characters including Siegfried Farnon (Samuel West), Mrs Hall (Anna Madeley), and Tristan Farnon (Callum Woodhouse), it appears another character is poised to pull at viewers' emotions.

Actress Anna Madeley disclosed that Mrs. Stokes (Susan Hilton) returns alongside her goats, which she characterised as "wonderful and funny"; nevertheless, touching scenes might emerge.

When questioned about any moments she's particularly eager for fans to witness, the actress remarked: "I think the Mrs Stokes stories will also be very beautiful.

"As usual, we have episodes that are funny but also moving, very much in the James Herriot tradition.

"Another key storyline is Tristan coming back from the war, and how he and Siegfried especially adjust to that."

Nevertheless, the Channel 5 performer hinted her character ends up behind the wheel at considerable speed, though she kept quiet about the circumstances, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Anna additionally outlined the fresh faces audiences will encounter this series, featuring a household that sparks tension between Siegfried and Tristan.

She continued: "Gaia Wise joins as Charlotte Beauvoir and Jonathan Hyde too, introducing a new family who throw the brothers into a conundrum. Charlotte is exuberant and proactive, which Mrs Hall responds well to.

"We also meet Sister Rose, played by Alexi Walker, in a beautiful storyline about community and not giving up on people or animals."

The second instalment of All Creatures Great and Small is due to broadcast this week, with viewers beginning to wonder about Siegfried's location.

A summary states: "James is exhausted running between Heston and Skeldale, and to make matters worse, he's often finding himself on the wrong side of Richard Alderson, who is miffed about the muddy floor.

"Meanwhile, Mrs Hall and Herriot are curious about what Siegfried's been up to when James finds him wandering home after a night out."
