The case was originally registered in a Punjab police station, prompting NIA's intervention for deeper investigation.
Pre-Dawn Raid by NIAA six-member NIA team from Chandigarh, led by Inspector Paramjeet, along with Dharamshala police, launched the surprise raid at 5 AM at Sunny’s bungalow in Naoroji Road, Ward No. 4. The search operation continued till 12 noon, after which Sunny was detained.
Key Evidence RecoveredThe NIA team recovered several important documents, believed to be linked to the human trafficking network. These documents have been seized for further investigation. Post-raid, the team secured all relevant materials and prepared to transfer the accused to Chandigarh for further interrogation and legal proceedings.
Official ConfirmationASP Aditi Singh confirmed the operation, stating that the NIA acted based on credible and detailed information. She further added that investigators will now work to uncover:
-
Sunny’s background and occupation
-

-
Possible associates and accomplices involved in this racket
The NIA is expected to examine all angles of the illegal immigration racket, as it continues cracking down on organized kabootarbazi networks operating across northern India.
