BBC Breakfast presenter Sally Nugent has warned viewers amid the upcoming Oasis reunion tour. Brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher are set to reunite, with performances beginning in just days, on July 4 in Cardiff and ending in November in Brazil. Ahead of their first gig, BBC Breakfast took a look inside the legendary Rockfields studio and interview those involved in recording Oasis' second album there.
"We're going to turn our attention now to the end of the week, aren't we?" Jon Kay began after Carol Kirkwood's weather update. "Yeah, because you suggested that Breakfast might be going a bit rock and roll, I'm not entirely sure that's true but we're going to have a go," Sally replied. "This Friday will mark one of the most eagerly anticipated reunions of all time when Oasis return to the stage for the first time in 15 years."
Viewers were then given a look inside the Monmouthshire studio by correspondent Charlotte Gallagher, with Jon confirming she was of no relation to Noel and Liam.
One of the founders of Rockfield Studios, Kingsley Ward who transformed his family's farmhouse into a residential recording studio in 1963 alongside his brother Charles, shared his memories of the Gallagher brothers, revealing they had "little arguments" and behaved like rockstars.
"I smiled, because I hoped they would [get back together] to be honest," Kingsley said, of the news of the reunion, before sharing that Noel got him tickets to the new shows.
A preview of YouTube documentary Return to Rockfield was also shown, revealing Noel returning to the site and reminiscing on writing Wonderwall in front of an audience of sheep in the surrounding fields.
"If I'd have known then what I know now about just what Wonderwall would become or Don't Look Back In Anger, I'd never have finished those songs, I'd still be fiddling around with them," Noel was filmed saying.
Following the segment, Sally and Jon warned viewers of the upcoming Oasis content over the next few days.
"There is no getting away from them this summer," Sally said.
Jon added: "If you don't like Oasis, I'd leave the country for the next few weeks."
Ahead of the reunion, fans have already been given an insight into rehearsals, after Wales Online reporter Conor Gogarty captured a video from Fitzhamond Embankment, opposite Cardiff's Principality.
The group could be heard playing Cigarettes and Alcohol, with the reporter writing: "Oasis soundcheck in Cardiff just now. @liamgallagher sounding biblical."
Liam of course chimed in on X, writing: "Mmm I'm not sure about the vocals there too aggressive he really needs to take a chill pill man he's just so angry all the time."
He added: "I don't know who he thinks he is as far as I'm concerned he's just a bigmouth from up north. (sic)"
He went on to claim the audio in the videos was a "live" recording from rehearsals, rather than happening at that exact time, but fans were sent wild nonetheless.
BBC Breakfast airs from 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.
