What is Max Verstappen thinking, undergoing a test drive at the Nurburgring during his week off? Over 70 drivers have died at this track and he's gone and jumped behind the wheel of a Ferrari under a pseudonym to set a new unofficial lap record at one of the most dangerous circuits in the world.

The death toll is much higher if you include casual drivers, where up to a dozen members of the public die each year. Has Verstappen completely written off this season already? And the rest of his Red Bull career? If that's not a middle finger to Red Bull, what is?

There are strong suggestions he will leave at the end of the year and his latest actions indicate he really doesn't give a damn anymore.
