A popular deal is returning to McDonald's for the 20th year, offering fast food fans the chance to turn their meals into something much more valuable if luck is on their side.
The event comes around every year and sees almost the entire menu become a little different: McDonald's Monopolypromotion. A spokesperson for McDonald's said: "Never fear, fans of Monopoly at McDonald's, the wait is almost over. Get ready for even more fun as McDonald's announces the long-awaited return of the game, under license from Hasbro, a leading games, IP and toy company, to all UK & Ireland restaurants on Wednesday, September 10." McDonald'sMonopoly has been running in the UK since 2005. The promotion is similar to the classic board game, where customers collect game pieces from menu items to win prizes. These can range from quick in-store wins for items such as fries, wraps, drinks and McFlurries at no extra cost. In the past, collecting enough matching property stickers would make customers eligible to claim some amazing prizes.

Certain menu items - including chicken nuggets, burgers, fries and cold drinks - will have a set of stickers attached, the Mirror reports. Larger meals offer more chances to win than medium, for example. Stickers can be peeled off to reveal either an 'instant win' that can be redeemed in a McDonald's store.
Or, stickers might have a property from the Monopoly board that eventually combine with others from the same colour set to earn a more valuable prize via the McDonald's App.
At the time of writing, the fast food giant hasn't revealed what will be on offer for those willing to take on the Monopoly challenge. However, in the past, grand prizes have included £100,000 in cash, MINI Electric cars and holidays with Jet2 worth £2,000.
Some prizes that don't require a block of real estate included instant discounts that could be applied to purchases from other brands like Moonpig, Virgin Experiences, Best Western Hotels, Photobox and more.
At this point (August 14), McDonald's has not confirmed the current roster of prizes that will be up for grabs in 2025. Despite running for years globally, people are always sceptical about the number of prizes that get claimed.
Over on Reddit, people have claimed they were lucky enough to win. One said: "I won a mini in 2018. Didn't believe it till it turned up on the drive!" Another added: "Not me but my pal won a hot tub!"
A third wrote: "Back when the brown spaces won low-value prizes instead of meals I won a Bluetooth speaker, it wasn't bad and I used it for years."
Someone else said: "A year of free Now TV, if you consider that meaningful." And, a fifth person shared: "My mum won a TV many years ago."
