Novak Djokovic has revealed that his son has already been out on the court with his next opponent at Wimbledon. Stefan, aged 10, is tennis-mad and has been cheering on his dad throughout the fortnight at SW19.
During Djokovic's four-set comeback win over Alex de Minaur, Stefan was spotted in his box wearing a white cap adorned with player autographs. And the seven-time Major winner has now joked that they will need to talk tactics after his son played a few points with Flavio Cobolli, whom he faces in the quarter-final.
Young Stefan has become a huge tennis fan, and he's been making the most of his time at the All England Club, as Djokovic admitted the 10-year-old had been approaching his rivals to get signatures for his white Lacoste hat.
"Actually, [he's got] most of them. It was himself independently of me approaching and asking for autographs. I think I might have asked only Jannik or someone, but everyone else he's approached," Djokovic smiled.
It didn't end there, as the world No. 6 said Stefan had even sparred with 22nd seed Cobolli, who reached his first Grand Slam quarter-final here with a win over former finalist Marin Cilic.
He added: "He even got a chance to play with Cobolli, my next opponent. They hit a few days ago. They played some points.
"He's over the moon. Obviously, he loves tennis. Yeah, he has everyone's signature, except mine. But that's okay, I'll accept that."
It's convenient that Stefan chose to hit with the Italian, as Djokovic will now meet Cobolli for a spot in the last four. And he's ready to get all the secrets from his son.
"Of course, I'll have a conversation with my son and see what he has noticed in the game of Cobolli the other day," Djokovic smiled.
"No, jokes aside, of course, he's a very talented player. One of the youngsters coming up. He's one of those players that he's young and new names coming up that we are probably going to see quite a bit in the future.
"I must say that pleasantly surprised with his result on grass because he doesn't strike me as a grass court specialist with his game, but he reached the quarter-finals. He's beaten Cilic and some big servers and big players that are grass-court specialists, so to say. So huge credit to him.
"He's a big fighter. We get along well. We practice whenever we can. We just had a hug. We embraced each other after the match. Actually we saw each other on the terrace.
"Let the better player win. What can I say? It's quarter-finals now. I definitely need to work on my game and start the match in quarters better than I did today. I wasn't very happy with the performance, particularly in the first part of the match. Yeah, I need to improve that in order to have the best chance to proceed."
