'Preposterously entertaining' action film with 'excellent fight scenes' lands on streaming

Action enthusiasts seeking a midweek viewing treat will be delighted to discover that a critically praised action-comedy is arriving on streaming platforms.

Described as 'preposterously entertaining', Novocaine will become available to stream on Paramount Plus from Thursday, September 25.

The thriller made its cinema debut back in March and garnered glowing reviews from both critics and general audiences.

It featuresThe Boys star Jack Quaid as Nate, an ordinary bloke who experiences no physical pain.

When the girl of his dreams Sherry (portrayed by Amber Midthunder) gets abducted by a gang of bank robbers, Nate employs his concealed abilities to save her, reports the Mirror.

Behind the camera, film producer Lars Jacobson takes on screenwriting duties, whilst Dan Berk and Robert Olsen handle directing responsibilities.

Despite the drama presenting a straightforward concept, it proved an immediate success with cinema-goers.

The R-rated thriller currently holds an impressive 80% rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics, whilst audiences have awarded it an even more favourable 84%.

The critics' consensus states: "Getting an adrenaline shot from Jack Quaid and Amber Midthunder's considerable charm while finding increasingly demented ways to utilize its concept, Novocaine is the opposite of a pain to watch."
