Resident gets revenge on neighbour on same day every year - for brutal reason

A resident came up with a way to settle the score with the person living next door - repeating the same small act of payback every year.

Their scheme began after their former neighbour was accused of poisoning their family cat ten years ago. On Reddit, the resident anonymously disclosed that their property and garden sat higher than their neighbour's, which created the initial difficulties.

When they watered their garden, the water would trickle down the slope onto her garden, consequently "killing her trees". The row continued for months, but the resident ignored any hostility because they and their family intended to relocate.

However, the situation intensified when the tenant, who was 12-years-old at the time, returned home from school and discovered their cat lying lifeless by the door. A post to the r/Neighborsfromhell Reddit page reads: "We took her to the vet and they confirmed she was poisoned.

"The only possible culprit was our neighbour. After we came back home my mom confronted our neighbour. Our neighbor told my mom that 'it's not nice when your things die.' My whole family was distraught.

"My neighbour thought she got the last laugh except I hold grudges and I was an absolutely evil child." The resident was "so enraged" and spent days attempting to devise a plan on how to secure revenge."

They waited until they moved out of the house and enlisted the assistance of a friend who owned a dog. Then, they plotted a scheme to smear the dog's droppings across the neighbour's car and front door.

That wasn't all - as the payback continued once the teenager obtained her driving licence. They started driving past the woman's house to pelt it with eggs every Halloween.

In the title of the Reddit post, the user penned: "My neighbor killed my cat 11 years ago and I am still getting back at her."

The post has accumulated more than 200 responses on the platform. While this resident received acclaim for taking action over their cherished pet, some people believe they could have gone further.

One remarked: "Want an easy peasy trick? Buy fish and throw [them] on the roof. They would slide down in the gutters, and some stay on the roof. The smell will kill her."

Another contributed: "Throw a few handfuls of beef bullion cubes in the yard before a good rain. Every dog in the neighborhood will be digging in the yard looking for a treat."

A third user commented: "You need to sign her up for every stupid mail spam possible."

Others commended the tenant for securing retribution. One exclaimed: "Good on you! I'm glad you got her back. Your cat is smiling from [the] rainbow bridge."

The Metropolitan Police recommend that if you witness or suspect someone of mistreating an animal, you should report it to the RSPCA. The police force collaborates with the animal welfare charity to investigate instances of animal cruelty.
