US President Donald Trump has been labelled a "sociopath" following a shocking remark he made during Monday's discussions with European leaders.
The president met with the leaders of several European nations, who arrived at the White House to support Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Representatives from the UK, France, Germany, Italy,Finland, the European Union, and NATO were all present during the discussions.
One moment that is being shared widely on social media captured a remark made by Ursula Von Der Leyen, President of the European Commission, where she directed her fellow leaders' attention to the abducted children in Ukraine, emphasising that returning them to their families must be a top priority.
"Every single child has to go back to its family," Von Der Leyen said, reportsThe Irish Star.
"This should be one of our main priorities in these negotiations."
However, Trump's immediate response was, "I was just thinking we're here for a different reason but we just a couple weeks ago made the largest trade deal in history. Congratulations."
In response to the clip, people have attacked Trump, branding him a sociopath and a narcissist.
One user wrote: "He didn't just ignore her plea ....he brushed it off like small talk, like stolen children were an inconvenience interrupting his sales pitch.
"That's not a slip. That's who he is: A man who will always choose applause over empathy, and profit over people. Trump didn't just miss the point. He erased it."
Another added, "Do you think it's weird that he doesn't have the ability to focus on a conversation and always turns it around to himself instead?"

Other users highlighted that moments before Von Der Leyen mentioned the Ukrainian children, she herself had raised the trade agreement that was struck with the US.
But rather than recognising her point, Trump dismissed it and swiftly moved on.
Von Der Leyen's remarks mirror some made by First Lady Melania Trump in her letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Melania pleaded with the Russian dictator to consider a ceasefire on behalf of the children of Ukraine.
Trump's self-centred behaviour was also spotlighted during his meeting with Zelensky yesterday.
Many people observed he failed to properly acknowledge Melania's contribution to the peace talks, instead seizing the opportunity to talk about himself.
Discussing Melania's motivations behind the letter, Trump said, "She's got a great love of children. She has a wonderful son that she loves probably more than anybody, including me. I hate to say it."
