Donald Trump showed his true feelings about King Charles in a five-word statement. While speaking to reporters after leaving the UK on Thursday, the US President gushed that "he is a wonderful guy" when talking about the British monarch.
Trump said the best part of hit visit was spending time with King Charles and seeing the artwork in Windsor, when asked by reporters. The US President responded: "I don't know. I think being with King Charles, he is a wonderful guy. I got to know him very well. I knew him before but now I know him a lot better."
He added: "The artwork, I saw more paintings than any human being has ever saw, and statues. But they treated us great, they treated our country great."
Donald Trump also said he ate "whatever the hell they served us" during the lavish state banquet at Windsor Castle when a reporter asked about what was on the menu.
The US President spent two days in Windsor hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla from Tuesday to Thursday this week.
Trump has openly praised the Royal Family during his visit and said the trip was one of the "highest honours" of his life.
He also praised King Charles in an interview with Fox News, stating how he's a "great person" and "tremendous man".
The US President said: "He [King Charles] went through pretty tough stuff, medically, and he's doing great. But he's just a great person. I've known him for a long time and always said the same thing."
"He's a tremendous man who really stepped into a tough position having to follow Queen Elizabeth. She's got the all time record!"
Trump is reportedly planning to invite King Charles and Queen Camilla to the US next year.
However, not everyone was pleased with the president's visit. In central London, an estimated 3000 people took part in an anti-Trump protest, made up of around 50 campaign groups.
The protest groups said they would demonstrate to "defeat the politics of Trumpism" and to promote "an alternative, democratic vision of the world based on peace, social justice and international cooperation," reports the BBC.
