Jhunjhunu: Nawalgarh police have arrested five individuals, Thursday, including the husband of the deceased, for plotting and executing the murder of a woman to claim a Rs 10 lakh insurance payout.
The victim, Krishna Saini (40), was killed on May 13 near Johad, close to Barwasi village in the Nawalgarh police station area. Her husband, Sahi Ram (47), had initially reported her death as a road accident. However, discrepancies in the physical evidence and statements raised suspicions.
Upon investigation, police discovered that Sahi Ram had orchestrated the murder with the help of hired killers. He lured his wife on a motorcycle ride to a deserted stretch near Barwasi village, where accomplices deliberately rammed the vehicle from behind. After she fell, they brutally crushed her head with a stone to disguise the murder as an accident. The accused include Sahi Ram of Binadas, Sachin Kumawat (25) and Pradeep Singh (22) of Bhagera, Mukesh Kumawat (45) of Nawalgarh, and Amrit alias Ram Singh (47) from Kulwa, Madhya Pradesh.
Nawalgarh DSP Rajveer Singh said the husband confessed during interrogation, revealing the murder was planned solely to claim the insurance money.
