People commemorate Telugu Hanuman Jayanti in remembrance of Lord Hanuman, who has great religious significance. It is the culmination of a 41-day spiritual observance that starts on the full moon day of the Chaitra month, Chaitra Purnima as per Hindu Calendar, and ends on the 10th day of Krishna Paksha, also known as Hanuman Jayanthi, in the Vaishakha month As per Telugu Calendar. This is one of the most important Hindu holidays, and many followers celebrate it with great delight and happiness. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are the two states that celebrate Telugu Hanuman Jayanti with great reverence.

On this auspicious day, devotees worship Lord Hanuman and ask for the Lord's blessings. Ashta Siddhi and Nava Nidhi spiritual powers are believed to belong to Lord Hanuman ji. Being Lord Shiva's Rudra Avtar, he is one of the Ashta Chiranjeevis who is still alive.

It is believed that Lord Hanuman is constantly occupied with his duties and singing Ram Ram, and he is usually regarded as an enthusiastic devotee of Prabhu Shri Ram. As the pinnacle of Lord Rama's followers, Hanuman Ji stands for steadfast humility, focus, and faith. One way to channel his attributes within oneself is through the 41-day Deeksha. It is a strict spiritual commitment that involves fasting, reciting Hanuman Chalisa, participating in temple ceremonies, and abstaining from material pleasures, is practiced by followers during this time. The period of 41 days cycle starts on the day of Hanuman ayanti that falls in the month of Chaitra and culminate with Telugu Hanuman Jayanti that occurs during the month of Vaishakha (Telugu Calendar). This is a period of both physical and mental purification. When the 41-day Deeksha comes to an end on May 22, 2025, Hindus in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana celebrate Telugu Hanuman Jayanthi with elaborate ceremonies, performing unique pujas, and offerings at Hanuman temples.

Telugu Hanuman Jayanti in 2025: Puja Vidhi
1. Take a holy bath as soon as you wake up.
2. In front of the idol of Lord Hanuman, light a diya with desi ghee.
3. Present fruits, sweet paan, bhog prasad, flowers or a garland.
4. Chant the Chalisa of Hanuman.
5. Go to the temple and present the flag, jasmine oil, sindoor, and chola.
6. Serve the coconut with the prasad as well.
7. Ask for Lord Hanuman's blessings, and it is considered meritorious to distribute Hanuman Chalisa among devotees.
