White House deputy chief of staff for policy Stephen Miller recently highlighted his family's deep connections to US President Donald Trump . In a recent Fox News interview with Lara Trump , the president's daughter-in-law, Miller seemingly addressed any speculation of a rift between Tesla CEO Elon Musk and President Trump. The statement comes just days after his wife, Katie Miller , departed her administration post to work for Elon Musk. The latest interview was aired shortly after reports claimed that Katie had left her role as an adviser at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to assume a full-time position with the tech billionaire. Musk himself recently concluded a 130-day tenure as a special government employee leading the cost-cutting arm, which ended last week. During the softball interview (as seen by The Independent), Miller focused on the influence Trump and his White House have had on his family life.
What Stephen Miller said about his family’s relationship with Donald Trump
Describing how he met his wife during the first Trump administration , Miller said: “When I first met her, she was the communications director at the Department of Homeland Security, so it’s very on-brand, the relationship, because we were on conference calls every day on border security.”
As per a report by the New York Times, the couple even got married at the Trump International Hotel in Washington.
After that, Miller spoke to Lara Trump about his children. When asked if they’ve met the US president, he shared that he has a photo of his daughter with the president from when she was a newborn.
"My daughter is always asking to see the president again…She’s always desperate for any chance to get face time with the president,” Miller added.
He added that Trump is “great with kids,” calling him a “kid magnet” and a “child whisperer.” According to him, children have always been welcome at the White House during Trump’s time.
“This is the most family-friendly work environment. You can bring your kid to work any time you want,” Miller noted. He’s said that he spent ten years with Trump, though to him, “sometimes it only feels like it’s been a year.”
