US President Donald Trump called his predecessor Joe Biden "son of a b****", while inaugurating the "Alligator Alcatraz" migrant detention centre in Florida on Tuesday (US time).
Trump, flanked by his Homeland Security secretary Kristi Noem and Florida's Republican governor Ron DeSantis, quipped that Biden wanted to put him there (Alligator Alcatraz).
"Hey, Biden wanted me in here. He wanted me [in here]. It didn't work out, but he wanted me in here," Trump joked as Noem and DeSantis laughed beside him.
Subsequently, he could clearly be heard saying, "That son of a b****," under his breath.
The facility sits some 37 miles (60 km) from Miami in the vast subtropical Everglades wetland teeming with alligators, crocodiles and pythons, and hence the "Alligator Alcatraz" name.
Critics of the US president's harsh immigration crackdown have called the site "inhumane," but he embraced the controversy as he attended the centre's official opening.
He remarked that the escapees would be taught to "run away from the reptiles to avoid being eaten."
Trump's jibe at Biden comes days after he dropped an F-bomb on live TV, accusing Israel and Iran of violating a ceasefire deal brokered hours ago by the Republican leader himself.
"They (Israel and Iran) don't know what the f*** they're doing," he said to reporters, visibly furious.
